Welcome to a new Dorchester-area book club!
I have selected White Tiger by Aravind Adiga as the first book for us to read. This book takes place in modern India and won the Man Booker Prize. The New Yorker review says, "Adiga's message isn't subtle or novel, but Balram's (narrator's) appealingly sardonic voice and acute observations of the social order are both winning and unsettling."
I have selected Thursday, March 12th at 7pm as our first meeting time but please let me know in the comments section or by email at marygradymarygrady@gmail.com if that doesn't work for you.
I will host the first meeting at home at 32 Shepton Street, Dorchester, Ma. Our home number is 617-825-7769.
I look forward to seeing you there!
Mary Grady
